DEVLOG 1 — Wastelight Enters Development
Today marks a huge moment for our studio: Wastelight is officially in development.
For a while now, we’ve been quietly working behind the scenes on an ambitious idea—one that expands the scale and realism of the Genesis 1K universe in a completely new way. Our game Genesis 1K is built on the idea of a living, diverse cosmos filled with 1000 worlds, each with its own stories, environments, and species. But we wanted to go further. We wanted some of those worlds to feel so real, so deep, that they could stand on their own.
That idea has now evolved into its first full project: Wastelight.
Set on a devastated planet that will eventually appear within the world pool of Genesis 1K, Wastelight takes place after a nuclear event has reduced the surface to scorched earth. By day, you scavenge for supplies—fighting through hostile remnants of civilization in gritty, boots-on-the-ground combat. By night, the radiation levels spike so intensely that venturing out becomes suicide, forcing you into your bunker to manage, expand, and upgrade your underground base. It’s a mix of tense exploration, deliberate gunplay, and bunker-life survival where every sunrise feels earned.
The connection between the two games is more than just lore. When Genesis 1K releases in Q1 2027, players will be able to discover this very planet in its universe—fully canon, fully explorable, and tied directly to the events of Wastelight. This is the first step in our long-term goal: allowing planets within Genesis 1K to grow into their own fully realized games when players take interest in them. Wastelight is the first of these expansions, and it won’t be the last.
Both projects are actively in development.
Genesis 1K is progressing steadily toward its 2027 release, with worlds continuously added and refined.
Wastelight does not yet have a release window—we’re in early development, focused on building the atmosphere, systems, and world that define the experience.
Thank you for following our work and for supporting these interconnected projects. More updates on both games will come as development continues. The universe of Genesis 1K is only just beginning to unfold.
Wastelight is available for preorder right now.
